Q. How long does it take to replace the windows in one suite?
A. Usually one day; two days at the most.
Q. Do you always put a new window back each day, or do you leave it out overnight?
A. We always ensure the windows are reinstalled daily.
Q. Can this work take place at any time of the year?
A. Yes, anytime except on days with heavy rain.
Q. Do you change the windows from the inside or outside?
A. We usually change them from the outside. On hi-rise buildings we use a suspended stage.
Q. What is a casement window?
A. It is a window that is hinged on the sides and is opened from one side.
Q. What is Low E coating?
A. This is a coating that is applied to the glass during the glass manufacturing process. Low E glass helps to reflect heat in the summer and to keep heat in during the winter.
Q. Is Low E visible?
A. Yes, slightly. It is not a mirror or highly reflective finish. Most people do not even notice it.
Q. How much does Low E add to the cost of a window?
A. Approximately 10% to 15%.
Q. Are there any rebate programs for owners?
A. Usually BC Hydro and/or Terasen Gas have rebate programs, which change periodically. Check to see if there are any current programs.
Q. Is there a cost for Pacific Windows to provide an estimate?
A. No cost at all.
Q. Who handles the resident notices and ensures the suites are left clean at the end of the day?
A. We ensure all of this is taken care of.
